Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to excellence and exceptional guest experiences. Within its expansive portfolio, the Autograph Collection stands out as a unique assembly of independent four and five-star hotels, each carefully curated for their distinctive character, quality, and originality. This collection is designed to cater to "The Individualist," a traveler who values personalized and memorable experiences that add to their personal narrative. These hotels do more than just provide a place to stay—they offer a journey that is rich with style, adventure, and authenticity, making every visit an unforgettable part of their story.
Joining Marriott International means becoming part of a global team dedicated to fostering diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. The company values the unique backgrounds and talents of its associates, creating an environment where everyone can thrive professionally and personally. At Marriott, associates are encouraged to be their best selves, engaging in meaningful work that contributes to the company’s reputation for world-class hospitality.
The role of a Guest Service Support Expert within the Autograph Collection is integral to maintaining the high standards and seamless service Marriott is known for. This position goes beyond simply serving food and drinks; it is about crafting an entire guest experience that is enjoyable, unique, and memorable. Guest Service Support Experts play a vital support role in food and beverage operations by assisting in various tasks such as setting tables, aiding kitchen staff, replenishing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas. Their proactive approach ensures operations flow smoothly, and guests feel valued throughout their visit.
Physical stamina and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. Guest Service Support Experts must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods while working on uneven or slippery surfaces. They are required to handle tasks that involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects—some weighing up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Additionally, they must be comfortable with bending, twisting, and stooping to meet the demands of the job.
Equally important is the commitment to adhere to company policies and procedures, uphold rigorous quality standards, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. This ensures a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and coworkers. The role is designed to be hands-on and dynamic, requiring a positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset to effectively support various aspects of service delivery and contribute to the overall guest satisfaction.
This position is particularly suitable for individuals who value working in a vibrant hospitality setting and are eager to develop skills in guest services without requiring prior extensive experience. Marriott provides a supportive environment for growth, making it an excellent starting point for anyone looking to build a rewarding career in the food and beverage industry. The employment type, typically full-time or part-time, includes competitive pay reflective of the benefits and opportunities Marriott offers to its associates.
