Job Description
Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort, located at 2255 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, Hawaii, is a distinguished hotel within the Marriott International portfolio. This premier beachfront resort offers guests an exceptional experience with stunning ocean views, luxurious accommodations, and extensive amenities. Sheraton Waikiki prides itself on being a vibrant hub for travelers seeking a blend of relaxation and excitement on the beautiful island of Oahu. As a part of Marriott International, Sheraton Waikiki is committed to exceptional service, inclusivity, and creating memorable moments for all guests. The resort has a celebrated history dating back to 1937 and continues to be a gathering place for people from around the world, offering a unique cultural and hospitality experience deeply rooted in Hawaiian tradition and global standards.
This part-time, non-management position at Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort offers an hourly wage ranging from $28.67 to $35.84, reflecting the value placed on quality service and guest satisfaction. The role primarily focuses on guest services operations within the Rooms department, centering on front desk responsibilities that are crucial to the smooth functioning of guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest assistance. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Japanese language skills—speaking, reading, and writing are preferred—to cater to the diverse international clientele, enhancing communication and guest experience.
In this role, the associate is entrusted with organizing and processing all aspects of guest arrivals and departures, including verifying payments and billing adjustments, issuing and filing room keys, and handling reservation changes or cancellations. This role also entails managing guest requests with professionalism and efficiency, providing guests with accurate information about room features, amenities, services, hours of operation, and local attractions. The ability to handle daily administrative tasks such as printing contingency lists, reviewing reports, and completing cashier and closing reports is essential.
Safety and security are integral to the position with responsibilities to notify relevant departments about potential security issues and to maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information. The role demands consistent adherence to company policies and maintaining a professional appearance to uphold Sheraton's brand image. Employees are expected to be proactive in following up on unresolved guest issues, supporting team goals, and maintaining high-quality service standards. Physical requirements include standing or walking for extended periods and handling light lifting.
Sheraton Waikiki fosters a collaborative, inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and equal opportunity is a foundational value. The resort is dedicated to providing health care benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, life insurance, disability coverage, and wellness programs, which contribute to the overall well-being of its associates. Joining Sheraton means becoming part of a global network that offers extensive career growth opportunities while contributing to creating enriching guest experiences. This position is a perfect opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, customer service, and working in a dynamic, multicultural environment focused on excellence.
