The Guest Service Associate role at Global Partners serves as a critical front-line position responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and contributing to the smooth operation of store-level functions. This role involves greeting guests warmly, ensuring a pleasant and memorable shopping experience, operating point-of-sale systems accurately, and maintaining store cleanliness and product availability. The Guest Service Associate must adhere strictly to company policies regarding safety, security, and quality while managing cash, lottery, and tobacco inventories. This position requires flexibility in work hours, including the possibility of nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of retail operations. Additionally, the role involves various physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in different temperature environments, underscoring the need for a physically capable and attentive employee.

Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to perform basic computer functions
  • reliable transportation
  • ability to work in intermittent temperatures such as outside and cooler environments
  • ability to climb ladders and stairs, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or carry up to 25 pounds
  • ability to access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
  • ability to count, read, and write accurately to complete required paperwork
  • ability to perform job duties in a timely manner
  • support new hire employee onboarding and training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous customer service experience preferred
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and provide an enjoyable shopping experience for everyone
  • adhere to the execution of established safety, security, quality and store operations policies, procedures, and practices
  • operate the point of sale pursuant to corporate standards
  • maintain proper cash, lottery, tobacco levels
  • complete all store housekeeping functions such as cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash
  • replenish products and supplies ensuring in-stock conditions at all times
  • communicate with store management regarding guest requests and vendor-related concerns
  • check in external and internal vendors per established guidelines
  • conduct gas tank inventory and merchandising projects assigned by management
  • complete other tasks as assigned by management
