The role being offered is that of a Housekeeper, a vital position within Boyd Gaming’s hospitality division. This role is key to ensuring a superior guest experience by maintaining the cleanliness, security, and comfort of guest rooms at the company’s casino resorts. The Housekeeper is responsible for thoroughly cleaning guest rooms according to established company and departmental standards, ensuring each room is inviting and ready for guests. This involves changing bed linens, replenishing bath linens and room amenities such as soaps and tissues, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathroom facilities including sinks, counters, tubs or showers, and toilets.

In addition to cleaning duties, the Housekeeper maintains the supply cart with necessary cleaning supplies and updates room statuses through requisite departmental paperwork, ensuring seamless communication within the housekeeping team. Timely reporting of any repair needs in guest rooms to the housekeeping office is an important responsibility, which helps maintain the high-quality standards expected by guests and management alike. Responsiveness to guest requests is crucial, with the housekeeper expected to handle such requests quickly and efficiently, enhancing guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical cleaning tasks
  • availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • ability to follow instructions and departmental standards

Job Duties

  • ensure the security of guest rooms and their contents
  • clean assigned number of guest rooms according to company and departmental standards including changing bed linens
  • collecting used bath linens and replenishing with fresh linens
  • dusting hard surfaces
  • vacuuming carpeted areas
  • cleaning bathroom sink, counters, tub and/or shower, toilet, etc
  • replenish room amenities such as tissues, soaps, etc
  • stock supply cart with supplies necessary for cleaning guest rooms
  • update room status and complete requisite departmental paperwork
  • notify housekeeping office of any repairs needed in guest rooms
  • handle guest requests quickly and efficiently
  • other duties as assigned by management
