Job Description

Courtyard by Marriott is a distinguished hotel brand under Marriott International, dedicated to providing exceptional services tailored for business travelers around the globe. Founded with the mission to offer a unique and memorable hospitality experience, Courtyard has been the pioneer in designing hotels specifically crafted to meet the diverse needs of business travelers. As part of the Marriott International portfolio, Courtyard embodies innovation, comfort, and a passion for service, enabling guests to feel empowered and enjoy seamless stays no matter their travel purpose.

Located at 31910 Gateway Center Blvd S, Federal Way, Washington, this Courtyard hotel functions within a vibrant community committed to excellence in guest service and hospitality. Marriott International is recognized worldwide for its diverse portfolio of brands and its commitment to equality, diversity, and creating a welcoming environment for employees and guests alike. This commitment extends to providing opportunities for career growth and personal development, fostering a workplace culture where team members are valued and encouraged to become the best versions of themselves.

The position available is for a full-time Guest Environment Expert, a non-management role paying $22.00 per hour. The role is pivotal for maintaining the impeccable standards of cleanliness and order throughout the hotel premises, including guest rooms and common areas. This position demands a highly energetic and flexible individual who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated to contribute directly to the guest experience by ensuring that all spaces not only meet but exceed guest expectations.

As a Guest Environment Expert, the responsibilities transcend beyond just cleaning rooms and making beds. The core task is to create a unique and memorable experience for every guest by maintaining an immaculate and welcoming environment. This involves handling guest requests promptly, restocking cleaning carts efficiently, and performing various cleaning duties throughout the hotel. Importantly, the role is physically active, requiring standing, walking for extended periods, and manually handling items up to 50 pounds, ensuring the hotel's operations run smoothly and the guests’ needs are consistently met.

Adherence to company policies and standards is fundamental, including ensuring workplace safety, confidentiality, quality standards, and maintaining a professional appearance and communication style. Courtyard by Marriott promotes a culture where diversity of backgrounds, talents, and experiences are celebrated, actively fostering an inclusive workplace where discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited. This role is a perfect fit for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to contribute to an ambitious yet friendly team, and dedicated to delivering outstanding guest experiences while continuing professional and personal growth.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision care, a 401(k) plan with company matching, employee stock purchase plans, travel discounts at Marriott properties, childcare discounts, employee assistance programs, paid parental leave, adoption expense reimbursements, and educational assistance. Additionally, full-time employees in Washington accrue paid sick leave, paid time off (PTO), and are eligible for a minimum of seven paid holidays annually. Weekend and flexible availability are preferred to meet the business needs effectively.

Joining Courtyard means becoming part of a respected global brand with Marriott International, where you can perform your best work, fulfill your professional purpose, and become part of an incredible worldwide team. This role provides valuable exposure to the hospitality industry and an exceptional platform for career advancement in a supportive and inclusive environment.
