Job Requirements

  • Accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and exposure to elements
  • Capability to scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting items up to 44 pounds
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to remain mobile throughout the shift
  • Willingness to learn and engage with guests positively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus but not required
  • Effective communication skills including positive language and attentive listening
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic proficiency with technology such as handheld scanners and frequency devices
  • Comfortable adapting to a fast-paced retail environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Knowledge of Target products and services is beneficial

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
  • Make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events
  • Assist guests with Target Loyalty program applications and sign-ups
  • Understand and demonstrate the use of Wallet and other features within the Target App
  • Manage returns and follow register prompts while partnering with leaders to resolve issues
  • Support order pick up, Drive Up, and Registry guest services
  • Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • Stock supplies while remaining available for guests
  • Work safely and comply with all safety policies
  • De-escalate negative situations and recover guest experiences as needed
  • Deliver efficient and accurate service at checklanes and guest service areas
  • Engage guests using positive and attentive communication
  • Collaborate with team and leaders to ensure exceptional guest experiences
