Job Requirements

  • Accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
  • ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions
  • physical ability to lift or move merchandise up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally without assistance
  • flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to remain mobile for entire shift duration

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior retail or customer service experience is a plus
  • effective communication skills including positive language and attentiveness
  • welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
  • willingness to educate guests about products and services
  • proficiency in operating handheld scanners and technology
  • ability to work independently and within a team

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting all guests authentically
  • observe and respond to guests' needs using body language and verbal clues
  • engage with guests genuinely by asking questions to understand their needs
  • be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently and accurately
  • minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality
  • inform guests about brand launches, activities, and loyalty programs
  • assist guests with digital features like the Target App and Wallet
  • manage returns and follow company policies
  • partner with leaders to de-escalate negative situations
  • deliver service for order pick up, drive-up, and registry guests
  • maintain a clean and organized work area
  • stock supplies during store hours
  • adhere to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance standards
  • work safely and identify hazards
  • support guest services including compliance with adult beverage laws
  • perform other duties based on business needs
