Job Description
Target is a leading retail corporation known for its widespread presence across the United States, offering a one-stop shopping experience for a wide variety of products including apparel, electronics, groceries, and home goods. As a trusted brand committed to enriching the communities it serves, Target fosters a retail environment driven by its core values of inclusivity, respect, innovation, and community engagement. Through sustainability initiatives and continuous efforts to enhance guest experiences both in-store and digitally, Target aims to make everyday life joyful and convenient for all its customers.
Working at Target means becoming part of a collaborative and supportive team culture that values diversity and provides opportunities for personal and professional growth. The company prides itself on offering competitive wages, with the starting hourly rate for this position set at $15.00 USD per hour, alongside a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support the holistic well-being of its team members.
The role of a Guest Advocate at Target is essential in representing the brand’s promise of exceptional customer service. This position is designed for individuals passionate about creating welcoming environments and making every shopping experience seamless and enjoyable. Guest Advocates serve as the frontline ambassadors who engage with guests, help solve their concerns, promote loyalty programs, and assist with both in-store and digital service offerings. This role requires adaptability, effective communication skills, and a friendly attitude to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting.
Beyond basic guest interaction, a Guest Advocate is responsible for conducting efficient checkout operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and food safety standards, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in their work areas. The position demands teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing the guest experience. Additionally, Guest Advocates support various guest service functions such as order pick-up, drive-up, returns, and educating guests on the use of Target’s mobile app and other digital tools.
This is a physically active role that requires the capability to stand and remain mobile during shifts, sometimes involving lifting merchandise up to 44 pounds. With a flexible schedule that includes the possibility of nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times, this role suits individuals who appreciate dynamic work environments. Target provides extensive training to equip Guest Advocates with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed and encourages team members to engage continuously in their career development.
By joining Target as a Guest Advocate, team members contribute to the company’s vision of delivering outstanding service while gaining valuable experience in retail operations and guest engagement. This position not only nurtures customer service expertise but also fosters problem-solving abilities and teamwork dynamics, making it an excellent stepping stone for those interested in pursuing a long-term career in retail or customer service industries.
