Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to handle cash register operations accurately
  • capacity to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
  • able to lift and move merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance
  • ability to remain mobile during entire shift
  • basic technology proficiency with handheld scanners and communication devices

  • attention to detail while multi-tasking
  • willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
  • ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
  • ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
  • make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events
  • know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign-up as needed
  • attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate Leaders as needed to help solve for the guest while following Targets policies and procedures
  • partnering with Leaders as needed to de-escalate any negative situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Target's policies and procedures
  • maintain a clean, clutter free work area including gathering abandoned items, baskets and hangers
