Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- reliable and prompt attendance
- ability to handle cash register operations accurately
- capacity to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
- able to lift and move merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance
- ability to remain mobile during entire shift
- basic technology proficiency with handheld scanners and communication devices
Job Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including using positive language and attentiveness to guests needs
- welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
- attention to detail while multi-tasking
- willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
- ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Job Duties
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
- make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events
- know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign-up as needed
- attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate Leaders as needed to help solve for the guest while following Targets policies and procedures
- partnering with Leaders as needed to de-escalate any negative situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Target's policies and procedures
- maintain a clean, clutter free work area including gathering abandoned items, baskets and hangers
