Job Requirements

Accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
reliable and prompt attendance
capability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 44 pounds
able to work in varying temperature and environmental conditions
able to remain mobile and on feet for the duration of scheduled shifts
good communication skills
willingness to engage guests and provide exceptional service
compliance with company policies
ability to operate technology equipment such as handheld scanners
capable of working both independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
prior retail or customer service experience beneficial but not required
strong communication skills with ability to use positive language
ability to engage guests with a welcoming and helpful attitude
attention to detail while multitasking
ability to educate guests on products and services
proficiency in operating handheld scanners and technology devices
capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
ability to remain composed under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Job Duties

Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact and tailor approach accordingly
engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to understand their specific needs
be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store and specific to assigned area to solve guest issues and improve experience
thank guests genuinely and let them know appreciation for shopping at Target
scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service, accuracy, and quality
make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
promote and assist with Target Loyalty programs including application and sign-up
educate guests on Wallet and features within the Target App
be familiar with all fulfillment services and direct guests to enroll and activate them
process returns following register prompts and company policies partnered with leaders as needed
de-escalate negative situations partnering with leaders to recover the guest experience
deliver service to Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
stock supplies during store hours
demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
work safely and identify hazards to benefit self and others
support compliance for adult beverage laws and policies
perform additional duties based on business needs
