Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures and humidity
  • Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely including lifting up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Willingness to comply with safety policies and practices
  • Ability to de-escalate negative guest situations and follow company procedures

  • Effective communication skills including using positive language
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Attention to detail while multi-tasking
  • Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and technology equipment

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently and accurately in compliance with food safety standards
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service, accuracy, and quality
  • Make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up
  • Attempt every return and partner with leaders to solve guest concerns following company policies
  • Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area
  • Stock supplies during store hours
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Work safely to benefit yourself and others
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-up Orders, including Starbucks Drive-up, and DU Returns
  • Partner with leaders to de-escalate negative situations and recover the guest shopping experience
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs
