Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and be mobile throughout the shift
- Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds occasionally
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to operate point of sale systems and handheld technology
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Communicating effectively including using positive language and being attentive to guest needs
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Attention to detail while prioritizing tasks
- Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within timeframes
- Experience with cash handling and checkout operations is a plus
- Familiarity with retail technology and digital service tools is preferred
Job Duties
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks
- Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
- Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events
- Be knowledgeable about the tools, products and services available in the total store to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
- Thank guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
- Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with sign-up as needed
- Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy
- Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet
- Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use these features
- Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed to help solve for the guest
- Maintain a clean, clutter free work area by gathering unpurchased items and supplies
- Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety policies, best practices and training
- Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-up orders and DU Returns and maintain compliance with laws
- Perform all other duties based on business needs
