Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and be mobile throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate point of sale systems and handheld technology
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Communicating effectively including using positive language and being attentive to guest needs
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Attention to detail while prioritizing tasks
  • Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within timeframes
  • Experience with cash handling and checkout operations is a plus
  • Familiarity with retail technology and digital service tools is preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
  • Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products and services available in the total store to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  • Thank guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with sign-up as needed
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy
  • Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet
  • Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use these features
  • Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed to help solve for the guest
  • Maintain a clean, clutter free work area by gathering unpurchased items and supplies
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety policies, best practices and training
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-up orders and DU Returns and maintain compliance with laws
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs
