Job Requirements

  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
  • capable of working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions
  • ability to lift or move merchandise up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally without assistance
  • flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and punctual attendance
  • ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts
  • willingness to comply with safety policies and ethical standards
  • ability to use multiple frequency devices and other technological tools as directed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior retail or customer service experience is advantageous but not required
  • strong communication skills using positive language
  • ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
  • comfortable engaging and educating guests about products and services
  • proficient in operating technology equipment including handheld scanners
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • capacity to remain composed in a fast-paced environment while meeting performance standards
  • flexible availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact
  • engage with guests in a genuine way by asking questions to better understand their needs
  • be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience
  • scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality and accuracy
  • make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • promote target loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed
  • assist guests in using the Target App features such as Wallet
  • direct guests to enroll, activate, and use fulfillment services
  • handle returns following company policies
  • partner with leaders to de-escalate negative situations and recover guest experiences
  • deliver easy and accurate service for order pick-up, drive-up, and registry guests
  • maintain a clean, clutter-free work area
  • stock supplies while remaining available for guests
  • demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • support guest services including order pick-up, drive-up, and returns
  • perform other duties based on business needs.
