Job Requirements

  • ability to accurately handle checkout operations and transactions
  • capacity to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely including lifting up to 44 pounds
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • capability to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous retail or customer service experience beneficial but not required
  • effective communication skills including positive language and attentiveness
  • welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail
  • willingness to educate guests on products and services
  • ability to operate multiple frequency devices and handheld technology

Job Duties

  • demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
  • make guests aware of current promotions, store activities, and events
  • be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience
  • thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target
  • encourage and assist guests with Target Loyalty program sign-ups
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently and accurately
  • minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality
  • educate guests on Target App features including Wallet
  • direct guests to enroll and use Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering services
  • process returns following company policies
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • stock supplies during store hours while assisting guests
  • uphold a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • work safely and report hazards
  • support guest services such as Order Pick-Up and Drive-Up orders
  • perform other duties as business needs require
