Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in customer service or retail environment is beneficial
  • strong communication skills including positive language use
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
  • basic proficiency with technology devices such as handheld scanners
  • ability to remain composed in fast-paced environments
  • willingness to learn and engage guests about products and services

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • scan and bag all guest items efficiently and accurately in compliance with food safety standards
  • make guests aware of brand launches, store activities, and events
  • promote Target loyalty programs and assist with sign-up
  • assist guests with using the Target Wallet and app features
  • support order pick up, drive up, and registry guest services
  • de-escalate negative situations with leaders following company policies
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • accurately handle cash register operations and transactions
  • stock supplies while being available to assist guests
  • work safely and comply with safety policies at all times
  • engage guests to build an inclusive experience and resolve concerns
  • follow register prompts for returns and partner with leaders for guest recovery
  • adapt approach based on guest cues and body language
  • educate guests about services and offerings
  • support compliance with all regulatory laws including those related to adult beverages
  • perform all other duties based on business needs
