Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- proficiency with baggage and express operation and ability to quote rates and information
- ability to lift items up to 50lbs
- ability to push or pull a baggage cart and operate baggage equipment such as tow tractors
- skilled in processing all Amtrak ticket types and understanding tariffs
- qualified with operation of Arrow, RailRes/Stars, and QuikTrak
- familiarity with Passenger Information Display System
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- positive and good-natured attitude
- comfortable with customer interaction, public address systems, and Amtrak computer systems
Job Qualifications

- skilled in processing all types of Amtrak tickets with thorough understanding of tariffs
- proficient with baggage and express operations including quoting rates
- qualified in the operation of Arrow, RailRes/Stars, and QuikTrak ticketing systems
- familiar with the Passenger Information Display System
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- ability to maintain a positive and good-natured attitude
- comfortable interacting with customers and using public address and Amtrak computer systems
Job Duties
- Cover planned and unplanned time off in the absence of other team members as part of Guaranteed Extra Board (GEB)
- greet, service, and ensure the general comfort of each passenger
- assist customers with special needs, luggage handling, and boarding trains
- promptly make ticket reports and safeguard company funds
- maintain and perform preventative care of ticket printers and Quik-Trak machines
- keep information racks filled and perform miscellaneous clerical duties related to the station
- disseminate verbal and printed passenger information including schedules, fares, routing, city highlights, tours and intermodal transportation
- ensure timely train boarding, verify ticketing and travel documentation, and enforce baggage compliance
- perform janitorial duties
- handle checked baggage, package express, and company materials in the station and on/off trains
