Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred
  • minimum two years experience in hotel sales
  • ability to perform cold call solicitation and close contracts
  • experience conducting site inspections and client visits
  • skill in setting up familiarization trips and contract negotiation
  • commitment to ongoing development training
  • proficiency with relevant computer software
  • understanding of hotel departments and amenities
  • participation in sales meetings and line-ups
  • ability to submit sales and development plans yearly

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in business, communications, or hotel management preferred
  • two years or more sales experience at a conference hotel
  • experience in cold call solicitation, contract closing, site inspections/visits with clients
  • familiarity with fam trips and contract negotiations
  • participation in development training programs
  • proficiency with computer software programs and equipment
  • working knowledge of hotel departments and amenities
  • active participation in sales meetings
  • submission of SMART plans and development goals

Job Duties

  • adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, meet or exceed weekly, quarterly and annual sales goals, targets and initiatives, develop, actively solicit, and map group business accounts per defined territory, maintain a complete database of accounts in defined territories, identify and qualify potential prospects through telemarketing, tradeshows, sales blitzes and other sales initiatives, maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads and managing accounts, follow all group sales standards of operation and policies and procedures, convey rate and package information within approved limits to maximize and protect revenue yields, perform duties reflecting the philosophies of The Power of One and Omni Hotels professionally, maintain customer, trade, industry and staff relations, promote all Omni properties and cross sell the brand, work closely with convention services and reservations to ensure successful meeting experiences, perform other tasks as needed to ensure effective hotel operation
