Job Requirements
- 3+ years of sales experience
- Experience in hotel sales preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
- Strong knowledge of hotel market trends and customer base
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work regular hours and comply with attendance policies
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of past sales experience preferred
- Hotel experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers of the hotel
- Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
- Advanced sales skills including revenue management and peer motivation
- Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, personnel relations, business planning, maintenance, budgeting, and hospitality law
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences
Job Duties
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
- Produce room, banquet, and room rental revenue through soliciting business via prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating, and closing sales
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel both orally and in written form to previous, current, and potential clients
- Handle account details to ensure solicitation and closing are complete and documented
- Coordinate hotel departments participation in servicing accounts
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients
- Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as appropriate
- Communicate verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to hotel departments for high quality service
- Prepare correspondence, internal booking reports and maintain files
- Participate in business review meetings, pre-convention meetings, training and sales-related meetings
- Attend trade shows, community and industry events
- Maintain advanced knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
