The Groundskeeper/Porter role at Greystar is essential in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the community’s physical environment. This full-time hourly position, based in Austin, Texas, offers an hourly wage range of $17.00 to $19.00, depending on various factors including experience and location. The successful candidate will ensure that the grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s high standards of curb appeal and cleanliness. Responsibilities include daily inspection and removal of litter, debris, and pet waste to keep the property attractive for residents and guests. The role involves collaboration with other service team members, supporting the make-ready process by clearing trash and preparing vacant units for new residents. Additionally, the Groundskeeper/Porter will perform routine maintenance tasks, assist with safety compliance by ensuring gates and locks function properly, and distribute communications to residents.
This role demands a commitment to safety and excellent customer service skills. The Groundskeeper/Porter must be able to identify hazards, provide timely reports of potential dangers, and participate in all required safety trainings, including OSHA-related requirements. Flexibility is important as the position may require working outside in varied weather conditions and a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel to other properties for support or training may be necessary.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver's license
- ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
- capability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance
- ability to work in all weather conditions
- availability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- occasional travel may be required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance preferred
- valid driver's license to operate golf cart on property
- knowledge of safety standards and procedures
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- basic handyman or maintenance skills
Job Duties
- Inspects community to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings to maintain cleanliness
- removes trash and items from vacant apartments prior to make-ready process
- completes minor and routine service requests as assigned
- assists make-ready specialist in turn process
- changes locks according to policy and checks pool gates compliance
- distributes notices and communications to residents
- reports hazards or dangerous situations promptly
