Job Description
Winterfield at Midlothian is a well-established residential community known for providing quality living environments coupled with attentive property management. Situated in a strategic location, the community prides itself on maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming grounds for its residents. The emphasis on aesthetics and functionality reflects the community's commitment to high standards and resident satisfaction. As an active and vibrant community, Winterfield at Midlothian offers a range of amenities including clubhouse facilities, laundry rooms, and well-kept common areas, ensuring residents enjoy both comfort and convenience in their daily lives.
The Groundskeeper/Porter role at Winterfield is critical to the upkeep and beautification of the community’s environment. This position demands an individual with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to safety and quality. The Groundskeeper/Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order across several key areas including offices, model homes, common areas, and the grounds themselves. The position requires balancing indoor and outdoor duties, often under varying weather conditions that may range from extreme heat to severe cold. This role is not just about cleaning and maintenance; it is about contributing directly to the resident experience by ensuring that all spaces are neat, safe, and visually appealing.
Essentially, the Groundskeeper/Porter will manage daily cleaning schedules for common areas and vacant apartments, conduct regular inspections to meet the high standards set by Drucker + Falk, and communicate effectively with supervisors to coordinate necessary repairs or replenishment of supplies. A vital aspect of the role is the maintenance of records for time worked and supply usage to optimize operational efficiency. The position also emphasizes strong resident relations, expecting the Groundskeeper/Porter to conduct themselves professionally and courteously as a representative of the community. This job offers not only a chance to be part of a dedicated team but also opportunities for professional growth, supported by benefits such as paid sick leave, vacation holidays, health insurance, and retirement plans.
This full-time role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform diverse tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, balancing in precarious places, and handling tools or chemicals safely. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic substances, and outdoor weather elements, requiring conscientious adherence to safety protocols. Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED, combined with relevant experience or training that prepares them for the workload and responsibilities intrinsic to this position. Winterfield at Midlothian values diversity and promotes a drug-free workplace, inviting applications from individuals who are ready to make a positive impact while working under dedicated supervision and in a collaborative team space.
