The Groundskeeper/Porter at Sterling Town Center plays a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the community. This position involves responsibilities in multiple areas including offices, models, the clubhouse, lobbies, laundry rooms, common areas, and the outdoor grounds. The role is essential for ensuring that all spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for residents and visitors alike. The Groundskeeper/Porter is expected to carry out daily cleaning of common areas and vacant apartments, routine policing and maintenance of grounds, and timely communication with supervisors regarding completed work and any repair needs. This position requires a hands-on approach, with duties performed under various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, illustrating the physical demands and outdoor nature of the role. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
  • ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
  • must adhere to safety protocols
  • willingness to communicate effectively with supervisors and residents
  • ability to use hands and arms to perform tasks
  • drug-free workplace compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds

Job Duties

  • Maintain time periods for the following tasks to be performed daily - cleaning of common areas
  • cleaning of vacant apartments
  • policing of grounds
  • ground’s maintenance
  • notify supervisor of completed work for inspection
  • maintain accurate records of time worked
  • request necessary supplies through the Maintenance Superintendent or Property Manager
  • report defects or deficiencies during work
  • maintain highest standards of resident relations
  • perform duties as requested by Maintenance Superintendent or Property Manager
  • perform other duties as assigned
