Job Description
The Groundskeeper/Porter position at Arbor Ridge plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the community. This is a weekend on-call role that requires a hands-on individual capable of performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks across multiple areas including offices, clubhouse, lobbies, laundry rooms, common spaces, vacant apartments, and the surrounding grounds. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, talk or hear regularly
- Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
- Ability to taste or smell occasionally
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 100 pounds
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts regularly
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals frequently
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Risk of electrical shock
- Exposure to wet or humid conditions occasionally
- Exposure to high places, fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration occasionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
Job Duties
- Maintain time periods for cleaning of common areas daily
- Clean vacant apartments
- Police grounds regularly
- Perform grounds maintenance
- Notify supervisor of completed work for inspection
- Maintain accurate records of time worked
- Request necessary supplies through Maintenance Superintendent or Property Manager
- Report any defects or deficiencies during daily work
- Maintain high standards of resident relations
- Perform additional duties as requested by Maintenance Superintendent or Property Manager
