Job Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly
- ability to lift items weighing 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces repeatedly
- ability to carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs
- ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods
- ability to work in cramped or high places
- ability to be alert to moving vehicles and aircraft and communicate via radio
- ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions around jet and machinery noise
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- have authorization to work in the United States or Canada as defined by relevant immigration laws
- complete ramp and SIDA training and obtain airport authority identification security
- secure a Customs Seal if required by customer or role access
- preferred one or more years of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate
- transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material safely
- safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage or destruction
- clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies
- operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment while maintaining visual contact with Wing Walkers
- operate or drive motorized equipment including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers
- receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials
- pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other passenger property
- complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments and enter data into the company's information system
- follow company safety and operational procedures
- complete all required training
- work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
