Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED diploma
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • one year of customer service, volunteer or sales experience
  • complete fluency in written and spoken English
  • complete AI- or statistically-based assessment evaluating adaptability, safety orientation, and teamwork
  • must adhere to JetBlue Uniform Policy Manual standards
  • able to travel and/or work variable hours including holidays and weekends
  • able to follow safety guidelines
  • able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
  • able to work in all types of weather
  • able to make occasional trips to other locations for training or temporary assignment
  • must be able to give and receive verbal communication
  • must be able to use handheld radios and headsets
  • must maintain positive attitude
  • able to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
  • must acquire and maintain valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • may need to acquire and maintain United States Customs Clearance depending on location
  • must possess and maintain valid Driver's License and driving record meeting JetBlue insurance standards
  • available for overnight travel 10 percent of the time
  • must pass 10 year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • must be legally eligible to work in the US

Job Duties

  • Operate ground service equipment which includes motor vehicles, tugs, and elevated de-icing equipment
  • service aircraft by operating ground service equipment including potable water truck, ground power unit, tug, aircraft pushback, lavatory truck, deicing truck
  • work in a ramp environment
  • tag, lift, load and unload customer bags including those in excess of 100 lbs from baggage compartments and baggage system
  • operate external aircraft equipment
  • help prepare cabin for customer boarding and departure including cleaning of seats, seat pockets, floor, galleys, and lavatories
  • assist customers with special needs such as boarding assistance
  • guide aircraft to and from parking locations
  • communicate using handheld radios with proper radio etiquette
  • assist with loading and unloading mail, small packages, and human remains
  • ensure and maintain a safe environment and operation
  • perform other duties as assigned
