We are currently seeking a part-time Grill Cook to join our team at Huntsville Memorial Hospital located at 110 Memorial Hospital Drive, Huntsville, TX 77340. This role is essential for preparing and serving food at the grill station, ensuring customers receive high-quality meals with exceptional service. The position offers a part-time schedule primarily on weekends, with shifts from 5:00 am to 2:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and occasional weekdays from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Candidates will be compensated between $12.00 and $13.00 per hour. Although previous grill cooking experience is preferred, training will be provided for the right candidate, making this a great opportunity for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the culinary field.

As a Grill Cook with Morrison Healthcare, you will play a critical role in preparing food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate food safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for handling orders, using approved recipes, and ensuring proper food temperature and appearance to deliver an excellent dining experience. This role demands attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Key responsibilities include efficient customer service, maintaining sanitation standards, following portion control, and upholding food safety protocols. Additionally, you will be expected to build positive relationships with coworkers and supervisors, attend training sessions, and support the overall mission of Morrison Healthcare in nourishing patients and communities.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation
  • Complete orders from steam tables and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner following established steps of service
  • Ensure food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Taste all prepared food items
  • Use established ticket-collection procedures during service
  • Store foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating and food safety procedures
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain assigned work areas, equipment and utensils
  • Resolve customer concerns and report relevant information to supervisor
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
