Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of prior experience
  • Ability to perform job duties in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Must be able to work full or part time shifts as scheduled
  • Ability to maintain food safety and hygiene standards
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry food containers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to participate in safety and training meetings
  • Must be able to work in an educational facility setting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of prior grill cook or food preparation experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills for portion control and inventory
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation
  • Complete orders from steam tables and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner following established service steps
  • Ensure food is at correct temperature, attractive, and tasty
  • Taste all prepared food items for quality
  • Use established ticket-collection procedures during service
  • Maintain records for the area worked during service periods
  • Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, temperature, and portion control
  • Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food safely to and from workstations
  • Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, safety, and rotation procedures
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain all assigned work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Resolve customer concerns and report relevant information to supervisors
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
