As a restaurant and food service provider within Sodexo's extensive portfolio, the role of a Grill Cook is critical in maintaining the high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction that Sodexo promises. This full-time position, offering an hourly wage between $18 and $20, involves working weekday shifts that may range from morning to afternoon or evening, depending on business needs. The Grill Cook plays a pivotal role in food preparation, working as part of a team to prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of nutritious hot and cold dishes across multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered special events. In this role, candidates are expected to be proactive in reducing food waste and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Attention to detail is crucial as the cook reads and measures ingredients precisely according to recipes, operates kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers, and may also serve customers in some settings. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work weekday morning, afternoon, or evening shifts
  • Previous cooking experience helpful but not required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to follow food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Team-oriented and adaptable
  • Strong reliability and punctuality
  • 0 to 2 years of related cooking experience is beneficial
  • Ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients correctly
  • Basic knowledge of operating grill, fryer, and kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station and/or operate a grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
  • Attend work and show up for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
