This full-time Grill Cook position at The College of New Jersey is an exciting opportunity to join Sodexo's dynamic food service team. Working under varying shifts with open availability preferred, the Grill Cook plays a vital role in preparing hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately cooking and presenting meals in a way that meets high-quality standards and contributes to customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • open availability including varying shifts and weekends preferred
  • previous experience in a cooking or grill station role beneficial
  • ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • good physical stamina to stand for extended periods
  • ability to follow food safety standards and guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Team oriented and adaptable
  • reliable and committed to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
  • 0 to 2 years of related cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare portion grill and present a variety of hot and or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast lunch dinner and special catered events
  • read and measure mix ingredients according to recipes
  • prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and or operate a grill station fryer and other kitchen equipment
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
