Founded in 1907, Cherokee Country Club is one of Tennessee's premier recreational and social clubs and a valued asset to the Knoxville community. This historic club is dedicated to providing an outstanding family club experience, where warm hospitality and a broad selection of high-quality, year-round social and recreational activities create a vibrant culture of community among its member families. Cherokee Country Club honors its rich history and cherished traditions while continuously evolving to meet the ever-changing desires and expectations of its members. With a diverse offering that includes multiple dining options, sports facilities, and social events, the club serves as a hub for members seeking both relaxation and active engagement within an upscale and welcoming environment. The staff at Cherokee Country Club prides itself on delivering top-notch service and fostering an environment that feels like a second home to its members, making it a sought-after destination for both social and recreational pursuits.
The club is currently looking to hire a part-time Customer Service Associate to join its dedicated team. This role is crucial in ensuring that members and guests receive a warm, professional welcome and that their experience at the club is seamless and enjoyable. The position offers a starting pay of $10.00 per hour, with the opportunity to earn tips. The role requires availability during weekdays, weekends, holidays, and day shifts with some additional flexible scheduling as needed.
As a Customer Service Associate, you will be the first point of contact for members and guests, embodying the club's commitment to exceptional hospitality. You will greet members and guests in an upbeat manner, anticipate their needs by communicating proactively with department heads, and ensure that all relevant information is passed efficiently to the culinary and service teams. This position demands excellent organizational skills, professional communication, and a thorough knowledge of the club's policies, menus, specials, and the ability to handle special requests including dietary needs and allergens.
The role also involves administrative duties such as managing reservations, preparing event materials, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work areas. You will take ownership of member issues, handling complaints with a calm and professional demeanor while documenting all feedback to help improve the club experience. Training colleagues on the use of the Point of Sale (POS) and reservation systems is also a key responsibility, ensuring smooth operations within the club.
The ideal candidate for this part-time position will have previous customer service experience, preferably in an upscale setting, and the ability to interact warmly and professionally with a diverse membership base. Physical stamina is essential as the role requires standing for extended periods and performing tasks that involve walking, climbing stairs, and other physical motions. Being able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is necessary to fulfill the job responsibilities.
Cherokee Country Club offers paid training to help new hires acclimate successfully and provides other beneficial workplace advantages. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to work in a prestigious club environment, and committed to upholding the highest standards of service. Joining Cherokee Country Club means being part of a welcoming community, contributing to members' cherished leisure experiences, and growing professionally in a dynamic and supportive workplace.
