The company is recognized for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and outstanding workplace culture. Among its prestigious brands, JW Marriott stands out as a luxury hotel chain characterized by elegant accommodations, exquisite service, and distinctive locations in gateway cities and resort destinations around the globe. JW Marriott places a strong emphasis on associate well-being, training opportunities, and career development, fostering a community where diverse talents and genuine hospitality thrive.
Located at 160 Central Park South in New York City, JW Marriott offers a vibrant work environment that blends luxury with innovation. The hotel invites candidates to be part of a global team dedicated to elevating the art of hospitality. As an employer, Marriott International is an equal opportunity organization that values cultural richness, inclusiveness, and professional growth. Employees are empowered to bring their authentic selves to work while contributing positively to the company’s legacy and guest satisfaction.
This particular role is for a full-time Host position in the Food and Beverage category, focused on delivering superior guest service through the efficient seating and welcoming of guests. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests entering the dining area, responsible for greeting them warmly, determining the size of their party, and escorting them to an appropriate and clean table with all necessary place settings. The role requires maintaining an inviting atmosphere by managing table arrangements, ensuring menus are current and clean, and monitoring the dining rooms for overall guest comfort and safety throughout the service period.
The position is classified as non-management and offers an hourly wage ranging from $31.27 to $36.79, reflecting the luxury and quality standards upheld by JW Marriott. This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, but no previous related work or supervisory experience is necessary, making it an excellent entry point into the hospitality industry. Training and certifications related to safety are part of the job, reinforcing Marriott's commitment to workplace and guest safety.
Your responsibilities will also include upholding company policies on safety and security, maintaining a professional and clean personal appearance, and fostering positive relationships with team members to support collective goals. Effective communication skills are vital, including the ability to professionally answer phones and respond thoughtfully to guest and employee concerns. The role provides opportunities for personal and professional growth within Marriott International’s extensive network of hospitality brands.
Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of an esteemed legacy that began with company founder J. Willard Marriott. The brand emphasizes not only luxury and comfort for guests but also a holistic approach to employee well-being, making it an attractive employer within the hospitality sector. As part of this organization, you will have access to a supportive work environment that promotes recognition, skill development, and career advancement pathways. This position represents a unique opportunity to blend customer service excellence with the dynamic atmosphere of a leading luxury hotel in one of the world’s most iconic cities, New York.
