The Government Sales Manager position at Aramark is a strategic sales role committed to driving new business and sustaining growth within the government sector. This role requires a dynamic professional who can achieve quarterly and annual sales plans by actively engaging in prospecting efforts to secure new client appointments and maintaining a robust sales pipeline. The ideal candidate will be responsible for studying client needs ahead of meetings to tailor offerings, negotiate pricing and product options, and coordinate critical product demonstrations. This position demands excellent communication and negotiation skills, proficiency in sales software, and an ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders both internally and externally.

The Government Sales Manager is expected to meet or exceed revenue targets by developing and executing a territory-specific growth strategy. The role involves continuous prospecting through telemarketing, cold calling, direct drop-offs, and other innovative sales tactics. Maintaining up-to-date client records in sales databases daily or weekly is essential to track progress and opportunities. The sales manager must prepare thoroughly for client meetings by conducting detailed research and customizing presentations to meet specific client requirements. Closing business deals, following up with clients, and ensuring timely delivery and installation in coordination with partners are critical responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of business-to-business, outside sales experience focused on new account generation, preferably selling a service
  • Proven success in developing new business and generating sales leads within assigned sales territories
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with a consultative selling approach

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce
  • Valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales revenue targets by developing a territory-specific growth plan
  • Meet or exceed prospecting activity expectations as determined by Sales Management
  • Secure prospective client appointments via participation in targeted telemarketing, drop-offs, cold calling, and other selling strategies
  • Update sales software database daily/weekly as advised by Sales Management
  • Prepare for client appointments by performing client research, tailoring sales materials, and using available resources
  • Meet with prospective clients to secure their business
  • Implement appropriate follow-up client meetings to complete the sales process
  • Meet client timelines and deliverables for installation via close coordination with client partners
