Job Description
The Recreation Centers of Sun City (RCSC) is a distinguished organization dedicated to providing premier recreational and social activities for residents and guests in the Sun City area. Among its many offerings, RCSC operates several renowned golf courses that are central to the community's active lifestyle and social engagement. Known for its well-maintained facilities, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to excellence, RCSC continues to foster a vibrant environment for both casual and competitive golfers. With a focus on quality service and memorable experiences, the organization's golf facilities are a hub of activity for golf enthusiasts and event organizers alike.
The Golf Sales & Tournament Manager role at RCSC is a critical position that drives the success and reputation of the club's golf tournaments and group golf events. Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, this role comes with an annual salary of $55,000 plus commission and operates as an exempt position. The Manager is entrusted with the responsibility of generating new tournament sales, managing client relationships, and flawlessly executing golf tournaments across all Sun City golf courses. This position requires a dynamic professional who excels in sales, event coordination, client service, and financial oversight.
In this role, the Golf Sales & Tournament Manager acts as the primary point of contact for tournament clients, ensuring that client expectations are met and exceeded from the initial inquiry all the way through to post-event follow-up. The position demands proactive outreach to potential clients, the ability to craft tailored proposals and contracts, and close collaboration with club leadership and operations teams to maximize revenue opportunities. Working closely with various departments, including Golf and Food & Beverage, the Manager coordinates all aspects of event logistics to deliver seamless and high-quality tournament experiences.
A key aspect of the role is financial management, where the Manager oversees pricing strategies, budget adherence, and revenue tracking. This requires strong analytical skills to monitor profitability and identify upsell opportunities involving merchandise, food and beverage, and value-added services. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for tracking sales performance data, maintaining organized records, and providing revenue forecasts to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Event execution is a significant component of the job, requiring onsite presence to oversee tournaments, address operational issues promptly, and maintain compliance with club standards and policies. The Manager fosters sustainable growth by continuously evaluating tournament operations, incorporating client feedback, and innovating event formats to keep offerings fresh and engaging. The role also involves business development activities, seeking new markets such as corporate, charity, association, and social groups to expand the tournament calendar and deepen community relationships.
Candidates for this role must bring a blend of education, experience, and skills including an Associate's degree or equivalent, familiarity with computerized point-of-sale (POS) and tee time systems, and proficiency in Golf Genius software. Exceptional communication, organizational, leadership, and analytical capabilities are essential. The Golf Sales & Tournament Manager must be adaptable, ready to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and possess a strong customer service orientation. As a team player, the Manager collaborates effectively with internal teams to ensure all tournaments are executed with precision and professionalism. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected organization and play a pivotal role in enhancing the golf tournament experience at RCSC and Sun City, positioning the venues as top choices for golf events in the region.
