Job Description
The hiring establishment is a prestigious golf course and resort known for its commitment to maintaining beautiful and healthy grounds through expert landscaping and groundskeeping practices. This facility combines leisure, recreation, and luxury, providing members and guests with an exceptional outdoor environment that is both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible. The golf course and resort have built a reputation for their meticulous attention to detail in course condition and landscape appearance, which is critical in attracting and retaining a high-end clientele. Their dedication to excellence extends to the use of advanced techniques and technologies in turf management, pest control, and sustainable landscaping practices to ensure optimal course performance and visual appeal.
The role of Spray Technician is vital within this dynamic team, tasked with the specialized responsibility of performing chemical applications necessary to protect and enhance the turf and grounds across the golf course and resort property. The Spray Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the health and appearance of the turf by diagnosing disease presence, insect risks, and fertilizer needs. This requires a detailed understanding of both preventive and curative measures, as well as the ability to perform or oversee the application of various chemicals safely and effectively.
This position demands a high level of technical knowledge and safety awareness, especially in the handling and application of pesticides and fertilizers. The Spray Technician must not only execute chemical treatments but also manage chemical inventories, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintain up-to-date records including Safety Data Sheets. The role requires routine safety inspections of spraying equipment and proper maintenance to guarantee safe, accurate, and efficient chemical application.
Moreover, the Spray Technician will collaborate closely with the Landscape Team and Lake & Grounds Manager to make informed recommendations regarding fertilizer, pesticide, and irrigation needs to optimize turf health and aesthetics. This proactive approach ensures that the overall resilience of the turf against diseases and pests is maximized while meeting the club's agronomy program standards.
In addition to chemical management, the Spray Technician will contribute to broader grounds maintenance activities as needed, supporting the golf course’s commitment to pristine conditions. The position requires regular attendance and adherence to company standards, highlighting the importance of reliability and teamwork in successful job performance.
This employment opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about turf management and chemical application in a recreational and resort environment. It offers a blend of hands-on technical work, compliance responsibilities, and collaborative planning, making it a comprehensive and engaging role. Candidates can expect an environment that values safety, efficacy, and customer satisfaction, with room for professional growth within the golf course management sector.
