Job Description
The hiring establishment is a premier Golf course and Resort that prides itself on maintaining impeccable grounds and providing an exceptional experience for its patrons. This establishment encompasses not only the expansive golf course but also the resort's pristine clubhouses and overall landscape amenities. As a prominent employer in the industry, the resort focuses heavily on environmental stewardship, safety compliance, and high standards of turf management, creating an ideal working environment for professionals dedicated to groundskeeping and agronomy.
The role of Spray Technician is pivotal within the resort's maintenance operations. The Spray Technician will be responsible for performing all chemical applications on the golf course and resort grounds, ensuring turf health and aesthetic excellence through expert use and management of pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemical treatments. This role involves diagnosing diseases, assessing insect risks, and determining the proper fertilization needs using both preventive and curative methods to maintain the vibrant and healthy turf expected by guests and members. The Spray Technician will play a supervisory role over chemical application activities and assist in managing the landscape team responsible for keeping the resort grounds and clubhouse areas in pristine condition.
A key responsibility includes maintaining a thorough understanding and current knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory compliance for chemical use and storage. The Spray Technician will also be tasked with meticulously compiling and maintaining reports on pesticide usage, chemical inventories, and equipment calibration records to ensure that all procedures meet county, state, and federal safety standards. Effective communication with the Lake & Grounds Manager and other staff members is crucial for planning and executing chemical applications and irrigation schedules.
Physical demands of the position require frequent walking, standing, bending, and handling of equipment, with occasional stair climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Spray Technician must have a valid driver's license, current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator, and hands-on knowledge of various spray equipment and fertilizer spreaders. This role demands high attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to strict environmental and safety protocols, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates passionate about turf management and landscape preservation within a resort setting.
