The Global Event Manager role at Labcorp is a pivotal position responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and successful execution of a wide range of global events that enhance the Labcorp brand experience. Situated in Durham, NC, this role demands an experienced event professional who is passionate about managing impactful events across multiple formats including in-person, virtual, and hybrid events at industry tradeshows, conferences, and symposia. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with marketing and sales leadership and cross-functional teams to identify brand activation and sponsorship opportunities within the healthcare sector. Driving alignment among stakeholders and managing the global master calendar, budget tracking, and event logistics are key responsibilities. This role requires creative thinking, strategic marketing application, and hands-on management of event programming including venue negotiations, scheduling, on-site staffing, and budget reconciliation. The Global Event Manager also plays a critical role in crafting communications such as event overviews, post-event recaps, case studies, and recommendations to maintain client readiness and program efficacy.
Ideal candidates for this role are self-starters with a high level of adaptability and flexibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team. Strong business acumen, problem-solving expertise, and the ability to influence and lead stakeholder groups toward common objectives are essential. The position requires proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, often working in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional and virtual teams. Travel is expected up to 25% annually including some evenings and weekends. The Global Event Manager must have vast knowledge and experience in trade shows, corporate hospitality, and meeting management, including budget oversight, contract negotiation, and supplier management. Experience in the healthcare industry and knowledge of EU and UK event planning are preferred qualifications. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of event management experience or 8 years with high school diploma
- experience planning events in EU and UK preferred
- certification in meeting professional or healthcare compliance preferred
- knowledge of trade shows, conferences, corporate hospitality, and meetings management
- supplier negotiation and management skills
- experience managing brand presence at large scale trade shows
- strong understanding of trade show environments
- strong contract negotiation skills

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of direct experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning or High School Diploma or GED with 8 years of direct experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning
- 1 or more years of experience in planning events in EU and UK
- Certified Meeting Professional and/or Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification
- 1 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry
Job Duties
- Collaborate closely with marketing and sales leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for brand activations and sponsorships within the healthcare industry
- drive stakeholder conversations to gain alignment
- oversee day-to-day operations of global master calendar and manage budget tracking for events
- apply strategic marketing objectives to event development and execution
- oversee and manage all aspects of event planning including interface with venues and suppliers, run of show development, programming and event scheduling, event logistics, budget development, management and reconciliation, and development of onsite staffing plan
- bring innovative thinking and executional expertise to each program
- demonstrate creative thinking and lead concepting and brainstorming sessions as part of overall program development
- liaise with various internal functions such as finance, creative, HR, executive team as required for client and program management and as a member of agency and account leadership team
- develop and author key communication deliverables including event overviews, post event recaps, case studies, and recommendations to client-ready status
