The role of Global Event Manager at Labcorp presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the strategic planning, execution, and management of high-profile global events. Located in Durham, NC, this hybrid position requires presence in-office at least three days a week, supporting both collaborative teamwork and flexible working conditions. The successful candidate will spearhead event strategies that amplify Labcorp's brand through impactful in-person and virtual events, including conferences, trade shows, and symposia that elevate brand awareness and foster industry relationships.

As a pivotal member of a cross-functional team, the Global Event Manager will work closely with marketing, sales leadership, and various internal and external stakeholders to identify and capitalize on opportunities for brand activations and sponsorships within the healthcare sector. This role involves overseeing all aspects of event planning and operations, from budgeting and vendor negotiations to program development and onsite execution. Excellence in client service, vendor management, and communication is essential to deliver seamless and innovative event experiences that embody the Labcorp ethos.

Job Requirements

  • Vast knowledge of and experience in trade shows, conferences, corporate hospitality, and meetings management
  • Able to negotiate and manage suppliers including food and beverage, creative, signage, audio visual, and transportation
  • Experience managing brand presence at large scale trade shows including booth logistics, sponsorships, ancillary events, and on-site activations
  • Strong understanding of trade show environments and exhibit management
  • Ability to craft and present high-level event concepts to senior leaders
  • Strong contract negotiation and event management skills
  • Experience developing, managing, and reconciling event budgets and finances
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with trade show organizers, partners, and industry peers
  • Analytical thinker, self-motivated, organized, flexible, and proven problem solver and decision-maker
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Interest in trends, new technology, and crafting unique guest experiences

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of direct experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning or High School Diploma or GED with 8 years of direct experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning
  • 1 or more years of experience in planning events in EU and UK
  • Certified Meeting Professional and/or Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification
  • 1 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry

Job Duties

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and sales leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for brand activations and sponsorships within the healthcare industry
  • Drive stakeholder conversations to gain alignment
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of global master calendar and manage budget tracking for events
  • Apply strategic marketing objectives to event development and execution
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of event planning including interfacing with venues and suppliers, run of show development, programming and scheduling, event logistics, budget development and reconciliation, and onsite staffing plan development
  • Bring innovative thinking and executional expertise to each program
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and lead concepting and brainstorming sessions for program development
  • Liaise with internal functions including finance, creative, HR, and executive teams for client and program management
  • Develop and author key communication deliverables such as event overviews, post event recaps, case studies, and recommendations to client-ready status
