Labcorp is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Global Event Manager to join their dynamic team based in Durham, NC. This role offers a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three in-office days per week, balancing collaboration and flexibility. The Global Event Manager will be pivotal in crafting and executing world-class event strategies that promote the Labcorp brand across healthcare industry events, including international trade shows, conferences, and proprietary meetings.

As a Global Event Manager, you will be responsible for leading event strategy, planning, and execution to elevate Labcorp's brand presence and market reputation. You will collaborate closely with marketing, sales leadership, and various cross-functional stakeholders to identify brand activation opportunities and deliver impactful programs. The role demands a strategic mindset to align event initiatives with overarching marketing objectives while managing the operational details, including budget tracking, vendor management, logistics, and onsite execution.

Your expertise in event management will help deliver innovative and engaging experiences through both in-person and virtual platforms, creating effective customer and industry touchpoints. You will oversee the global master event calendar, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment across multiple stakeholder groups. The role also requires building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners such as venues, suppliers, trade show organizers, and industry peers.

This position suits a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication capabilities, and a passion for delivering excellence. You will contribute to brainstorming sessions, developing creative concepts, and authoring key communications including event overviews, recaps, and strategic recommendations. Familiarity with trade show environments, contract negotiation, budget management, and healthcare industry events is highly valued.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma or GED
  • 5 or more years of experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning
  • 1 or more years of experience in planning events in EU and UK preferred
  • Certification such as Certified Meeting Professional and/or Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification preferred
  • 1 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Ability to negotiate and manage suppliers including F&B, creative, signage, audiovisual, transportation
  • Experience managing large-scale trade shows and onsite activations
  • Ability to present high-level event concepts to senior leaders
  • Strong budget management skills
  • Ability to foster relationships with trade show organizers, partners, and industry peers
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, virtual team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25% annually and work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of direct experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning
  • or high school diploma or GED with 8 years of direct experience in event management, trade shows, and meeting planning
  • 1 or more years of experience in planning events in EU and UK
  • Certified Meeting Professional and/or Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification
  • 1 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • Vast knowledge of and experience in trade shows, conferences, corporate hospitality, and meetings management
  • Strong understanding of trade show environments and exhibit management
  • Strong contract negotiation and event management skills
  • Experience developing, managing, and reconciling event budgets and finances
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Job Duties

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and sales leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for brand activations and sponsorships within the healthcare industry
  • Drive stakeholder conversations to gain alignment
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of global master calendar and manage budget tracking for events
  • Apply strategic marketing objectives to event development and execution
  • Oversee and at times manage all aspects of event planning including interfacing with venues and suppliers, run of show development, programming and event scheduling, event logistics, budget development, management, and reconciliation, and onsite staffing plan development
  • Bring innovative thinking and executional expertise to each program
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and lead concepting and brainstorming sessions as part of overall program development
  • Liaise with various internal functions such as finance, creative, HR, and executive team for client and program management and as a member of agency and account leadership team
  • Develop and author key communication deliverables including event overviews, post event recaps, case studies, and recommendations to client-ready status
