The General Manager role for University of Nebraska Athletics within Aramark is a pivotal leadership position responsible for managing multi-million dollar contracted services that cover large-scale food and beverage operations. These services include concessions, catering, premium dining experiences, and the execution of major sporting events, concerts, and other large venue activities. Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager leads a team of salaried direct reports, spearheading operational management, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
The General Manager will oversee the entire spectrum of food and beverage operations, ensuring all services align with client goals and guest expectations. This includes hands-on management and leadership across multiple units and concepts, maintaining strong client relationships at the location, and innovating new concepts to grow revenue sources through public foods, concessions, premium services, and catering outlets. The role demands a strategic mindset to partner with senior leadership, including the Senior General Manager and Vice President of Operations, to develop and execute effective business growth strategies.

This salaried position includes eligibility for bonuses based on meeting financial and performance targets. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of large venue or multi-unit management experience
- Experience in premium and concessions management preferred
- Proven direct profit and loss responsibility
- Ability to lead a large team in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to respond to changing demands
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to perform duties such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged walking and standing
- Compliance with uniform and personal protective equipment policies
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of large venue or multi-unit management experience
- Experience in premium and concessions management preferred
- Proven direct profit and loss responsibility in a comparable environment
- Ability to lead a large team of culinary and operations managers in a high volume, fast-paced setting
- Strong client and guest service orientation with entrepreneurship skills
- Passion for food and beverage with the ability to innovate and develop successful concepts
- Effective communication skills with clients and senior management
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing demands
- Experience with contract-managed services desirable
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
