As a General Manager, you will be entrusted with leading a team consisting of crew members, carhops, and skating carhops. Your responsibilities will encompass managing day-to-day restaurant operations including training staff, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining inventory and cost controls, and providing superior customer service. You will also be involved in hiring and scheduling employees, resolving customer concerns promptly, and preparing operational reports crucial for the restaurant's success.
This position requires working a minimum five-day workweek, which includes night shifts, weekends, holidays, and some irregular hours. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years restaurant management experience
- Must be available to work a minimum five-day workweek including nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and local health and sanitation regulations
- Leadership and supervisory experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic accounting and computer proficiency
- Ability to multitask and solve problems
- Willingness to comply with appearance and hygiene standards at SONIC
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Advanced studies in business or restaurant management preferred
- Minimum of two years restaurant management experience, preferably in quick service restaurants
- Experience running shifts without supervision
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and health regulations
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic accounting and computer skills
- Ability to follow directions and work autonomously
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
Job Duties
- Manage, train, monitor, and coach crew, team members, carhops, and skating carhops
- Direct and assign drive-in restaurant employees to ensure all food service meets operational standards
- Adhere to and monitor employee compliance with employee handbook, policies, and practices
- Perform restaurant opening and closing duties
- Prepare employee work schedules and adjust staffing levels as needed
- Monitor and maintain restaurant inventory levels, placing orders within cost control procedures
- Complete and maintain employment-related records and payroll
- Reinforce a customer service mentality and focus employees on serving customers
- Resolve guest requests and complaints promptly and respectfully
- Interview and hire restaurant crew and management team members
- Prepare operational reports and develop action plans to resolve financial or sales issues
- Develop and implement marketing plans
