The General Manager role at Petco is central to upholding this mission by leading a high-performing Pet Care Center. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • strong people leadership and coaching skills
  • solid understanding of business, financial, and operational processes
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to engage with customers and pets regularly
  • capability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • willingness to work in a retail pet care environment
  • commitment to uphold animal safety and humane care standards
  • eligibility to work in the assigned location
  • ability to travel occasionally for training and community events
  • must comply with company policies and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of management experience (retail leadership preferred)

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • completion of Petco leadership development programs may be required for internal candidates

  • complete required administrative, payroll, and inventory tasks accurately and on time
