Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years operating in an industrial environment
- 5 years plus Savage leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and criminal background check
- Must qualify for and possess Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card)
- Ability to attend and pass job-related coursework tests (OSHA, HazMat, FRA-related)
- Current valid driver’s license
- Computer skills including data entry, email, report preparation and review
- Understanding of contracts and MSAs
- Ability to work Monday through Friday approximately 45 hours per week
- Occasional travel may be required
- Understanding of equipment maintenance and the Savage Maintenance Program (CMMS ManagerPlus)
- Understanding or willingness to learn safe DOT operations
Job Qualifications
- 5 years plus experience in Savage leadership
- Thorough understanding of contracts and MSAs
- Experience in industrial environment operations
- Ability to lead multiple teams and locations
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to train and develop teams
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain management
- Understanding or willingness to learn safe DOT operations
- Ability to manage financial aspects such as budgeting and projections
Job Duties
- Lead safety and operations across multiple locations
- Building and supporting a high-functioning team
- Understand our customer’s needs and serve those needs
- Managing the financial aspect of the Savage System (Budget, Projections, Dailies, & Variances)
- Providing active leadership to both team members and management by developing them in problem-solving and decision making, cross-functional communication, safety and environmental compliance, compliance with operational processes and procedures, customer relations, professionalism and cleanliness
- Ensuring effective communication with existing customers and the development team
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Understanding logistics, utilization of equipment and people to meet customer service expectations
- Lead the Savage S7 Delivery System and train leadership on S7
- Oversee and mentor the financial aspect of Savage System
- Understand and implement the Savage Safety Program
- Understand and negotiate Collective Bargaining Agreements with the USW
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Other duties as assigned
