Job Description
Yardstick is a boutique dog hotel located in Nashville, Tennessee, distinguished by its innovative suites-only concept designed to deliver an exceptional, personalized level of care to our furry guests. Our mission is to transform the typical dog hospitality experience by creating a stress-free, elevated environment that caters to the unique needs of each dog. As a company, we are deeply committed to providing top-tier service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every pet, and their owner, feels valued and cared for. We are rapidly expanding our footprint, soon launching our fourth location in the vibrant Nashville area, including Williamson County, as part of our growth strategy. We pride ourselves on blending luxury pet care with a boutique hotel ambiance, setting new standards in the pet hospitality industry through meticulous attention to detail, expert staff, and a passion for animals.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to join our leadership team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary accompanied by an incentive-based compensation plan, reflecting our commitment to rewarding professional excellence and dedication. The General Manager will play a central role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of our upcoming locations, managing a team of approximately 12 employees, both full-time and part-time. This role demands a hands-on leader who thrives on nurturing talent through effective training and ongoing professional development. Beyond people management, the General Manager is charged with operational oversight including scheduling, labor cost optimization, and maintaining a clean and safe facility that meets our exacting standards of hygiene and safety for both dogs and staff.
Customer relations are paramount; the General Manager will ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by cultivating an atmosphere of care and attentiveness. Responsibilities also extend to community engagement through outreach and event management, reinforcing Yardstick’s position as a community-centric establishment. This role requires working closely with our CEO to contribute to strategic business planning and to implement process improvements that drive efficiency and growth. The successful candidate must be ready and willing to work during nights, weekends, and holidays to align with our year-round operational hours, reflecting our commitment to superior service availability. Ideal candidates will bring a blend of integrity, dependability, ambition, and enthusiasm for contributing to a growing business enterprise in the pet services sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the operational success of an innovative dog hospitality brand, positioning Yardstick as the premier pet resort choice for discerning pet owners in Nashville and beyond.
