Job Description

CharterUP is a pioneering technology company transforming the $450 billion group transportation and mobility market with its innovative AI native platform. Specializing in modern charter, shuttle, and emerging autonomous vehicle operations, CharterUP connects enterprises, institutions, and event organizers with thousands of bus operators across the United States. Trusted by numerous Fortune 500 companies, the platform streamlines scheduling, pricing, routing, and dispatch operations with an emphasis on transparency, automation, and scalability. CharterUP has revolutionized an industry long plagued by fragmentation and opacity, facilitating seamless, efficient group travel solutions for airports, campuses, industrial sites, and major events nationwide.

Founded with a mission to bring cutting-edge technology to ground transportation, CharterUP has built a strong foundation fueled by $60 million in Series A funding, positioning the company for significant expansion while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency. As a remote-first workplace with a tech hub in Austin, Texas, CharterUP attracts some of the brightest minds in technology who are passionate about driving innovation in group mobility. This culture encourages collaboration, learning, and growth, creating a dynamic environment that values both individual contributions and collective success.

The role of General Manager, Marketplace at CharterUP offers a unique opportunity to lead and own the Marketplace business— a crucial revenue driver and the company’s original growth engine. Reporting directly to the CEO and operating remotely, the General Manager is charged with end-to-end accountability for Marketplace performance, encompassing revenue growth, contribution margin, cost of sales, product integration, and operational leverage. This position offers the autonomy and responsibility of running Marketplace as a stand-alone business unit while collaborating closely with product, engineering, data science, and operations teams to optimize business systems and processes.

As the Marketplace General Manager, you will be the critical link between frontline sales execution and broader business strategy. The role demands a product-minded, analytics-driven leader capable of translating recurring customer pain points into scalable, repeatable solutions that drive growth and improve efficiency. Your efforts will focus on enhancing pricing strategies, funnel design, automation initiatives, and product offerings to create a seamless customer experience and maximize profitability. With full P&L ownership and a mandate to build operating cadence and mechanisms, this role is a true business owner position.

You will lead the Marketplace Sales team while managing the entire Marketplace architecture including pricing and packaging, conversion economics, and productization. The role is embedded in Marketplace operations, ensuring customer feedback directly informs product development and that performance metrics guide decision-making. Your success will be measured on growth, margin expansion, and operating leverage, with a clear emphasis on scaling the business efficiently without linear increases in headcount.

Joining CharterUP means becoming part of a fast-moving, ambitious, and collaborative team that is setting new standards in the world of group transportation. The company offers great growth opportunities and a performance-driven culture that rewards innovation and results. CharterUP is committed to inclusivity, offering competitive benefits such as comprehensive health insurance, paid time off, remote work flexibility, and long-term financial planning support. By joining this forward-thinking company, you will contribute to revolutionizing an industry and make a tangible impact on how millions of people travel in groups globally.
