Job Description

HMSHost is a global hospitality company renowned for its commitment to outstanding service and employee engagement. With a wide-reaching presence in various travel venues, including airports and major transportation hubs, HMSHost specializes in providing quality dining, retail, and hospitality services. The company's rich history and strong corporate values have established it as a leader in the hospitality industry, known for fostering a culture centered on appreciation, diversity, inclusion, and lifelong learning. HMSHost also ensures its employees feel supported with robust benefits, competitive wages, and ample opportunities for career growth and development, making it an employer of choice for many in the hospitality sector.

The General Manager II (GMII) position at HMSHost is a vital leadership role focused on managing complex Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or Casual Dining operations, or a small cluster of restaurants or points-of-sale situated near each other with annual sales typically exceeding $4 million. The GMII is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, cleanliness, staffing, customer service, and financial performance. This role requires broad discretion and decisive leadership to make critical decisions that impact the overall success of the restaurant. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee opening and closing procedures, staffing, deployment, coaching, development, hiring and termination, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

GMII leaders at HMSHost act as both managers and coaches, motivating their teams to meet and exceed business goals while fostering a positive work environment. They are responsible for ensuring that all shifts are adequately staffed and scheduled, that employees are supported and engaged, and that employee recognition and training programs are actively promoted and implemented. These professionals must be adept at reading and interpreting financial and operational reports to guide staffing and operational decisions effectively.

Serving as a bridge between corporate strategies and frontline operations, the GMII upholds HMSHost's commitment to exceptional customer experiences and operational excellence. The role necessitates a leader who is adaptable, embraces diversity and inclusion, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where the primary mission is to ensure employees feel valued and travelers receive superior service. If you possess positive energy, a passion for serving others, and a commitment to learning and growth, HMSHost provides a dynamic and rewarding environment where you can develop your career as an influential hospitality leader.
