Job Requirements
- Documented and demonstrated restaurant management experience for a minimum of 3 years
- Overall working restaurant experience of 5-7 years in the type of restaurant managed
- Graduation from Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for experience
- Demonstrated skills in team management, delegation and issue resolution
- Knowledge of company policies, products and operational standards or the ability to learn promptly
- Ability to speak, read and understand instructions and official documents
- Strong communication skills
- Capability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years documented and demonstrated management experience in QSR, Casual Dine or similar complex restaurants
- Overall working restaurant experience of 5-7 years
- Graduation from Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for experience
- Demonstrated team management, delegation and issue resolution skills
- Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, services, quality and operational standards or ability to learn quickly
- Ability to read, comprehend instructions, correspondences, and policy documents
- Excellent communication skills to engage comfortably with individuals at different levels
- Proven ability to manage P&L and drive financial success.
Job Duties
- Ensures all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of closing the restaurant to prepare for opening
- Holds shift managers accountable for executing all closing and opening checklist requirements
- Deploys staff and resources to maximize profitability within the restaurant
- Assigns work tasks and activities, prepares schedules, and ensures all shifts are covered
- Provides staff with consistent support, coaching and encouragement to achieve business goals
- Interviews job candidates, makes hiring, termination, advancement or promotion decisions
- Ensures onboarding and offboarding of all restaurant associates including compliance with badging and training
- Reads and understands financial and operational data to monitor progress and assign associates accordingly
- Recognizes staff for contributions and implements plans to motivate team
- Ensures daily orders are prepared and inventory is stocked appropriately
- Oversees receiving goods, processing invoices and vendor relations
- Maintains restaurant equipment and schedules repairs
- Manages company response to audits
- Conducts and coordinates training and education activities
- Maintains working knowledge of brand standards and applicable agreements
- Develops and implements revenue-increasing strategies
- Manages day-to-day activities of associates
- Resolves customer and associate issues
- Implements marketing programs
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local safety, sanitation and health standards
- Holds managers and staff accountable for safety standards
- Trains managers and associates on wellness check and COVID-19 protocols
- Performs all health and safety activities as specified in policies.
