Job Requirements
- Minimum three years of restaurant P&L management experience
- total of five to seven years working in the restaurant industry
- ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- demonstrated skills in team management and issue resolution
- ability to adopt and teach HMSHost policies and standards
- capability to effectively communicate and comprehend instructions and operational documents
- willingness to work a varied and rotating schedule including opening, peak, and closing shifts
- ability to comply with federal, state, and local health and safety requirements
Job Qualifications
- Experience managing quick service or similar restaurants including P&L responsibility
- minimum of three years restaurant P&L management experience
- five to seven years overall restaurant industry experience
- graduation from a Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute experience
- demonstrated team leadership, delegation, and problem-solving skills
- knowledge of HMSHost products, services, operations standards, or ability to learn quickly
- proficiency in reading and interpreting instructions, policies, menus, and brand standards
- excellent communication skills
Job Duties
- Ensure assistant managers and staff follow opening and closing procedures
- adopt and demonstrate manager behaviors that foster employee engagement
- deploy staff and resources for profitability while maintaining P&L responsibility
- assign work tasks, prepare schedules, and ensure shift coverage
- provide coaching and support to meet business goals
- conduct interviews and manage hiring, promotion, termination, and other personnel actions
- promote diversity and inclusion philosophies
- oversee onboarding and compliance activities including badging and training
- analyze financial and operational reports to track goals
- recognize staff contributions using company tools
- champion employee engagement behaviors
- maintain up-to-date staff contact information
- prepare daily orders and stock units
- oversee receiving, invoice processing, and vendor communications
- maintain proficiency in management systems like MIV, Crunch Time, and Kronos
- monitor and schedule equipment maintenance and repairs
- manage company audit responses
- minimize waste and participate in food donation programs
- assess associate skills and coordinate training
- encourage adoption of new technologies
- enforce brand standards, lease agreements, and labor relations protocols
- develop strategies to increase revenue
- manage daily activities of associates across locations
- resolve customer and associate issues, escalating as required
- utilize strengths and provide feedback aligned with development goals
- implement marketing and promotional programming
- maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety standards
- hold managers accountable for safety compliance
- train staff on wellness checks and COVID-19 protocols
- perform all designated health and safety duties as per guidelines
