Job Description

Sodexo Corporate Services is a global leader in quality of life services, dedicated to improving the everyday experiences of individuals in various settings, including corporate environments. With a strong presence worldwide, Sodexo combines food services, facilities management, and integrated solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence. At its core, Sodexo values diversity, inclusion, and respect, fostering a workplace culture where employees can be themselves, contribute ideas, and grow professionally. The company is committed to providing equal opportunities to all candidates and actively supports employees through diverse programs and benefits that enhance career development and work-life balance.

The role of General Manager / Chef Manager at Sodexo's prestigious corporate dining account in Allentown, PA, offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for culinary professionals who aspire to lead with passion and creativity while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. This position operates Monday through Friday with no nights or weekend shifts, making it ideal for those seeking a career in culinary leadership without the traditional demands on personal time.

As the on-site leader and executive chef, you will spearhead a dynamic culinary operation that includes managing a full-service Corporate Café serving breakfast and lunch, orchestrating catering services for high-profile meetings and events, and overseeing two Micro-Markets—one located on-site and another nearby. Your role is pivotal in shaping the dining experience by designing menus, leading catering efforts, and innovating grab-and-go food options tailored to the corporate clientele.

Your leadership responsibilities extend beyond culinary creativity; you will manage budgets, ordering, and inventory processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Leading a team of three hourly employees, you will foster a collaborative and motivated work environment, handling HR tasks such as scheduling and team development. The role requires a balanced approach with a 70/30 split between active culinary work and administrative responsibilities, providing variety and engagement in daily tasks.

Working at Sodexo means joining a company that places a high value on professional growth. This role offers ample opportunities to develop skills in both culinary arts and operational management. The structured weekday schedule provides an excellent work-life balance, allowing you to thrive professionally while enjoying your personal time during evenings and weekends.

Compensation for this position is competitive and reflective of your education, experience, and skills. Sodexo supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. The company ensures new hires receive detailed benefits information upon onboarding.

Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a team committed to excellence, creativity, and meaningful contribution in the corporate dining sector. Your role as General Manager / Chef Manager is critical to delivering exceptional culinary experiences that enhance client satisfaction and employee engagement. If you are a passionate culinary leader who enjoys balancing strategic management with hands-on work, this position offers a perfect blend of responsibility, creativity, and personal fulfillment within a supportive and inclusive workplace.
