Job Description
Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport is a well-established hotel located in the heart of Tucson, Arizona. This hotel is owned and operated by Johnson Hospitality, an independent franchisee separate from Marriott International, Inc. Johnson Hospitality manages all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, compensation, and benefits. The Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport is known for its commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences and high-quality services. It serves both business and leisure travelers with a range of amenities and exceptional hospitality standards. The property is strategically located near the Tucson airport, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking convenience, comfort, and quality accommodations.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport team. This is a full-time, management position offering a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 per year. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire hotel operation, ensuring profitability while maintaining excellent guest services and operational standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire, motivate, and direct the hotel team to achieve both financial and customer satisfaction goals.
As General Manager, you will develop, administer, and control the hotel’s revenue and expense budgets, analyze profit and loss statements, and submit variance reports promptly. You will also review and approve hotel payroll and various operational paperwork, authorize direct bill accounts, and participate in joint sales calls to drive top account management. A key part of the role involves directing and approving the hotel marketing plan and ensuring its effective implementation. You will be tasked with maximizing room revenue through diligent room inventory management and monitoring negotiated rates.
Leadership and employee development are core elements of this role. The General Manager will ensure proper selection, training, counseling, and motivation of both hourly employees and the management team. You will oversee employee benefits, performance appraisals, and disciplinary procedures aligned with company policies. Maintaining a positive employee attitude that anticipates guest needs is vital, along with ensuring excellent guest special request delivery and implementing the L.E.A.R.N. model for guest recovery.
Outstanding communication skills are necessary to engage successfully with employees, guests, corporate ownership, and the local Tucson community. The General Manager will maintain active visibility in community and industry events, build relationships with competitive hotels, the City Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce, and lead sources. Routine attendance at brand business and marketing council meetings, staff meetings, and sales meetings is required.
The role requires extensive knowledge of hotel operations, including safety protocols, cash control procedures, employee relations, sales, and preventive maintenance. The ability to handle challenging situations professionally and utilize various computer programs and accounting software, including Excel, is critical. Monitoring guest satisfaction scores and implementing corrective actions promptly is also part of this leadership role.
In return for your expertise and leadership, our company offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive medical plans with an HSA option, dental and vision coverage, critical illness insurance, and a 401K plan with a 4% match. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a premiere hotel and contribute positively to its growth and success while fostering a supportive and productive work environment. Our company is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive.
