Job Requirements

  • Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight of $1MM or greater
  • Proven experience in organizing, booking, and operating sports tournaments and events
  • Operational knowledge of food and beverage, entertainment, and sport clubs, corporate events, parties, and team building
  • Experience working with convention and visitor bureaus, regional sports commissions, or regional event management
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience
  • Operational knowledge of risk management, kitchen, entertainment, sports clubs, parties, corporate events, team building, and leadership development
  • Sports programming and event operations expertise required
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimal travel
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Office environment with intermittent noise
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds waist high

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience
  • Proven experience in organizing and operating sports tournaments and events including basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, wrestling and similar activities
  • Operational knowledge of food and beverage, entertainment, sport clubs, corporate events, parties, and team building
  • Experience working with convention and visitor bureaus, regional sports commissions or event management in sports or convention centers
  • Expertise in sports programming and sports event operations
  • Knowledge of risk management, kitchen operations, and leadership development

Job Duties

  • Analyze operations to evaluate the performance of the company and its staff
  • Appoint department heads or managers and assign or delegate responsibilities
  • Confer with ownership, advisors, and staff to discuss issues and resolve problems
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of budgetary and administrative control systems
  • Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations and maximize investments
  • Direct human resources activities including selection of directors and organizational structure
  • Plan and implement policies and objectives to ensure continuing operations and maximize productivity
  • Implement corrective action plans for organizational or departmental problems
  • Prepare and present reports on activities, expenses, budgets, and compliance
  • Represent the organization at official functions or delegate representatives
  • Serve as liaison between organizations, shareholders, and outside entities
  • Administer site selection, construction needs, and equipment provision
  • Coordinate production, pricing, sales, and distribution activities
  • Negotiate or approve contracts and agreements
  • Prepare and obtain approval of budgets
  • Review staff reports and recommend changes
  • Schedule and monitor staff training seminars
  • Perform additional duties assigned by VP of Venue Management
