Job Description
The hiring company is an established business specializing in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and refrigeration services, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This company is known for its comprehensive approach to mechanical systems including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration units. With a strong presence in multiple locations such as Sunnyvale and Fort Worth, the company emphasizes growth, excellence in customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality in all business operations. Recognized for its commitment to professional development, the company fosters an environment that values strong leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement in technological and operational practices.
The role offered is a senior managerial position responsible for overseeing all departments of the company. This position entails comprehensive oversight of service, sales, commercial, gas, installation, call taking, dispatching, billing, and day-to-day operational activities. The successful candidate will act as a key business partner with the company’s President/Owner, contributing to business planning with detailed annual objectives focusing on growth, revenue, profitability, and market share. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing reporting tools including activity trackers and forecasts while taking appropriate corrective actions to meet business goals.
In this leadership capacity, the candidate will maintain direct responsibility for managing financial performance, controlling operational expenses, procurement processes ensuring optimal cost control without compromising quality, and evaluating business relationships and procedures for efficiency. The role includes handling the primary responsibility for plumbing estimates related to residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The chosen individual will lead efforts to enhance revenue streams, develop growth strategies, and manage budgets aligned with the company’s objectives.
The position demands top-to-bottom Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility, requiring close collaboration with the President/Owner to review business performance regularly, suggest improvements, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Management responsibilities extend to overseeing daily operations, training lower-level managers and staff, evaluating overall employee productivity, and conducting thorough assessments of financial and accounting data.
This job is an exempt position with hours determined by business needs and involves regular travel between company locations and affiliated job sites. It requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, maintain professionalism, and provide exceptional customer service. Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with conflict resolution abilities, are essential to this role. It requires a valid driver’s license and eligibility for company insurance coverage, reflecting the job’s travel and safety requirements.
Candidates must have five to seven years of experience in the HVAC industry with prior supervisory experience, demonstrating capability in coaching, counseling, and training employees. A thorough knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems—including the ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and control circuits—is essential. Familiarity with local codes and standards is required. The role accommodates candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent experience that sufficiently covers the job’s essential functions.
The work environment is a standard office setting with physical demands including prolonged sitting and computer use, as well as the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Supervisory duties encompass overseeing all employees and ensuring operational excellence. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned HVAC professional to make a significant impact on a growing company’s success.
